You may of heard Honda recently pulled out '09 F1 series competitions. Honda CEO Takeo Fukui told a packed news conference the company was unable to continue backing an F1 team because of the tougher economic times. Honda placed second to last in standings, so that could have possibly not helped the situation.
In some F1 forums I check out people are speculating that Toyota or Renault may join Honda. F1 without either would be pretty devastating.
A nice reassuring word from BMW's Dr. Klaus Draeger, member of the BMW AG Board of Management. (Yeah BMW has doctors working for them.) "Our F1 involvement is an integral part of the company strategy. There is no better platform than Formula One for demonstrating our brand values. BMW, moreover, makes targeted use of the Formula One project as a technology accelerator for series production."
