Sony vaio P

Man, I really think this thing is super cool. Not a net-book, and Ultra portable.
1.33GHz Intel® processor, Up to 60GB hard drive, available 128GB SSD, 2GB RAM all in an 8in. pocketable. Thats right, pocket-able, it can fit in a jacket pocket. $899 isn't that bad. I hear the mouse nub is super accurate too. Those in Japan can order up the VGN-P90S with a 1.86GHz Atom Z540 processor. Of course, it's a $174 option over the baseline Z520. It needs to come here too, or I need to go to Japan. (via boat of course.)

Asus makes a pretty badass 10.2inch with great specs for $679

Some dude in my class has that. Or something similar. It's crazy small.

Problem is it runs Vista, and 2gb ram is like the bare minimum for running a sluggish vista. The Vaio P I hear performs the best with it so far, but most companies are sticking with XP which 1gb ram is enough to run nice. Windows 7 should change that. It uses much less resources than Vista. It's pretty nice actually, I've been using the Beta release.

I've seen vista run on a gig. Its not like you'll (or I'd) be running a bunch of programs on a "netbook" "ultra portable" "pocketable" "whatever." Buuuuuuuut, I was reading some boards on it, and I guess its pretty easy just to switch to XP, which then would be the shit.
