Idea for brick & mortar stores.
I feel some stores could benefit from a "pampered chef" style representative.
Sur la Tab
William Sonoma
I know those stores have in store demonstration, but, why not have an option to have a rep bring multiple products, have a host invite some people over, have a cool time, demo ing some shit, making some eats, some drinks, bring some order brochures, maybe a 10% off coupon for in store purchases. Shit.
What about target hosting an event for you and your friends, at your house warming party?
"Oh, those chairs you're sitting in Alex, they're available at your local target for purchase $69.99." They can bring a bunch of stuff, stage your place. Sure, you can't necessarily invite scallywags, gotta have interested ass people.
Home Depot, helping you throw a backyard BBQ. They supply the bbq, wood chips, couple of potted plants. Then show how to put some gutters up? Or build a porch, gazebo, what the fuck ever.
now hours later, I'm over this. you get the idea
Big Sur, CA. 10/08/17 - 10/09/17
Due to multiple landslides, and a bridge being damaged (ultimately torn down, and re-built). The only way into a section of (lower) Big Sur (The region does not have specific boundaries, but is generally considered to include the 76 miles segment of California State Route 1 from the Carmel River near the City of Carmel south to San CarpĆ³foro Creek near San Simeon and the entire Santa Lucia range between the rivers) is a narrow, windy road "Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd." Get off the 101 on Jolon Rd. Head into Fort Hunter Liggett, then Nacimiento-Fergusson Rd. The latter road is fucking awesome.
First part of the road I was in third gear the entire time, real nice. The whole middle, to last part of the road, I was in second. The curves, banks, narrowness of the road was amazing. Then, the elevation above the visible ocean.
I've never experienced driving on a road, seeing only sky, and ocean. For no better word, it was trippy. Then, Being so elevated above the coast line, but being right next to it (east/west wise) was gnarly. Those Los Padres mountains aren't fucking around.
I didn't take any photos on the way there, I was just driving, and keeping that line. This photo is from on the way back.
This photo is also on the way back, you like this order of things?
So, I was able to check in an hour early at the lime kiln falls campsite, set up my tent (forgot my rubber mallet, used a rock). Went and checked out the ocean, then hiked the trails to the falls, and the lime kilns. drank a bunch during all of that, took a nap. Then posted up at the rocky beach for sunset, and stars.
This nice couple (who I ended up taking a few photos for, of them) were having a good time on the beach. This was a little snap of that.
Milky way.
The amount of stars you could see was amazing. I remember that from last time I was there.
I think this is slightly out of focus
This is a good one.
This is that same photo, straight from the camera (Sony a7).
I woke up, got straight to mother fucking work, packed shit up, disassembled the tent. Then on my morning hike, I took this bullshit photo.
After, just bounced the fuck out. Left about 8:36 a.m. or so, which was perfect, no traffic in front of me impeding on progress. Straight did work on that road on the way back. Real nice and fun.
That previous Friday to the sunday/monday I spent in Big Sur, I met up with my ex-gf for drinks/eats while she was in town. We had previously been texting that week. It was so amazing to see her, and hang. It felt great in every way. The hand squeeze after our hug goodbye I'm still thinking about.
